I Not Stupid 2
Firstly, i want to apologize for the mistake i made in the previous post named imagination. To correct what i say, the production of final fantasy is not due to the folding of the company BUT it is because it is the final game the dude will produced. Special thanks to rick who provided me with his information.
So now, i will go right to the point, those who have not seen the movie DO NOT READ ON as the following may act as spoliters to you.
Basically, I not stupid 2 is a great movie. Actually it can be ranked top 5 of my favorite movies. Jack Neo, the producer of this movie carefully introduces humour and intense touching scenes into the 2 hour packed movie. This movie have touched the hearts of nearly all the people in the same threatre with me. There are many scenes whereby many were blowing their noses or sniffing their noses. The group of girls sitting behind me was particularly noisy. They keep repeating the same phrases again and again or guessing what is going to happen on the next scene. This annoyed me greatly as many scenes were spolit by them.
This story is about the lives of 3 people who face problem that many of the young people face today. One good example is that our parents do not have time to spend with us. Well, tom and chen cai were the best of friends in some school and jerry is the younger brother of tom. The movie start with the following phrases..
When was the last time you have been praised for doing something good?
When was the last time you have praised someone?
It has been a long time, right?
This few simple sentences immediatedly set us thinking but before we could think deeper into the subject, the story commenced.
The start wasted no time in telling us one of the problems face by young people.
It is about a boy named Tom who had immerged TOP in the blogging competition yet his mother was not proud of him one bit. Instead, she told her son off for wasting time in useless stuff like blogging and reprimanded him for not studying hard enough. Basically, the movie is going in this format showing problems faced. To keep things short, i will stop on the storyline.
There are many life lessons that can be learned in the movie. I will list them properly so that you wouldn't missed it out..
For parents and teachers..
Focused on the child's strength and not his weakness. Because the society has disillusion us about the success path, many a times, the child may be scolded for not 'following' the path to success. Parents and teachers failed to consider the fact that acheiving something else other than good in studies is also considered a success. A weakness that you feel your child have can be a strength is used properly. It all depends on the way you look at things.
Bring up a child is not merely about talking to him, scolding him and asking him if he/she understands you. Sometimes, when you feel that you are used all methods available to teach but the child is not able to appreciate it, the fault may not always lay in your child but in the parents.
There is never a child who is unteachable but there are many parents who are not unable to teach a child. Do not be too self-centred because you eat more salt than your child has eaten rice(chinese proverb in saying that he has more experience than the other) as you may be the one at fault.
Do not be too stingy in giving praises to the child. Some child always received scolding when they do the wrong things. That is not wrong but many child
DO NOT receive any forms of praises when they do something good. In such situations, i feel that parents or teachers should not allow their pride to be in the way. Praises should be given when the child deserves it and not when you feel like it.
Spend more time with the child. Excuses like busy with work are not good reasons in explaining why you are not able to be at your child's side when they need you the most. This will lead to poor understanding of the child. To acheive understanding of your child, you will have to communicate with them. BUT, communicating with him does not involve them listening to your speeches on your life storys and saying that what is done is all for your own good and scolding them for the smallest mistakes. Also, set a good example of yourself so that the child may not be disillusion by the way adults act.
Rules are dead, Humans are alive. Don't blindly follow the rules when it comes to everything. Sometimes, people have to be flexible so that future talents will not be 'buried' once they have a bad record in their conduct card.
Violence is not the solution to anything. Beating up your child is not the most appropriate way in teaching your child. This will only make the child harbour ill-intension of your actions.
Lastly,
show that you care. Words like 'I love you" have far greater power that all the money combined together. Do not wait until it is too late before you start showing you cared. This is because it will seem like pity to the child once the time comes.
This brings my discussion about the lessons on I not stupid 2 to an end.
