Life is like a dance
If life was a plant, would you be a tree branch or a flower?
These phrase was lost in my memories for ages before it decided to pop up in my brain after collecting years of dust. Well, i used to think about this question for a long time because of some stuff. Nevertheless, such questions are about your personality and somehow i always fits in the centre. :)
Many people will start by saying, 'of course flower la, be branch for what?' Yeh, i don't deny the fact that flower is more beautiful, elgant and more representable then a tree branch. However, people often forget that the life span of the flower is very short. I would give it a maximum of 10 days for the flower to witter. That being beside the point, the question is would you want to be a flower when it is short lived? Some people cannot accept that when a person dies, the memory of the particular person will start to fade with time. Thus, they do drastic measures to people close to them so that they can remember them forever. Such measures includes physical contact like beatings, cuts and oftenly sex. Other more sciencetifically unproven measures include haunting or possession. Therefore, by inflicting such degree of pain and anguish to the victim, they will be remembered.
On the other hand, being a branch implies stability and long lasting. Seasons can be used to illustrate this property of the branch. It can withstand harsh and bitter cold in the winter and at the same time resist the strong and intense heat of the summer. Despite it's stability, it is considered a 'boring' object which many people tends to forget. For example, when you take a look at a tree, would you notice a tree branch or a flower on that particular tree. The answer is obvious. It's the flower! The impression given of the branch is that of common or not special. Thus, it does not forge a memory in people's mind.
In human context, a tree branch may be illustrated by a typical worker in a company. He goes to work from 8 to 5. Afterwhich he returns home to his family. This person leads a a simple life and do not have much glory or attention given to him. He can be describled to be of middle-class income group. This process continues until he is unable to work. On the other hand, a human representation of a flower can be that of a star or a sports related star. This person earns big bucks and is very popular. Pele can be used to illustrate a flower. A football legend that creates mircales on the field that dazzle the eyes of many fans. He earns big money and is recognised throughout the world. However, at the age of 32+, age is catching up on him and he is unable to perform stunts as his physical limit is reached. Thus, he is slowly forgotten by the world. Soon, only records can be found about him.
Being so, which of it would you want to be? A tree branch that is stable or a flower that is ever so bright but dies off fast. For me, both decision are fine. The choice is up to you. That is because life's to short to be someone else. So live you own life be it a flower or a branch.
